Sachin Bansal: A Visionary Entrepreneur.

Early Life & Education.
Sachin Bansal was born in Chandigarh, India, on August 5, 1981. His father was a businessman, and his mother was a homemaker. He completed his studies at St. Anne’s Convent School in Chandigarh. In 2005, he graduated with a degree in civil engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, where he had previously studied.
After graduating, he briefly worked at Techspan before joining Amazon Web Services in 2006 as a Senior Software Engineer. However, he left Amazon in 2007 to start his own company.

The Flipkart Journey.
In October 2007, the unrelated Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal founded Flipkart, an online bookstore, with an initial investment of ₹4,00,000 (about $4,764 at the time). They started out in an apartment in the Koramangala area of Bangalore.
Sachin was initially responsible for a number of aspects of the business, including website development, book acquisition, packing, and even shipping. From 2007 to 2016, he served as Flipkart’s CEO. From 2016 to 2018, he served as the company’s executive chairman.
In 2018, Flipkart’s valuation was $20.8 billion. Sachin sold Walmart his 5.5% stake in the company as part of an arrangement. After the transaction, he departed Flipkart and received over $1 billion in compensation.

Post-Flipkart Ventures.
Sachin Bansal concentrated on launching new businesses and funding startups after leaving Flipkart.
He established BACQ Acquisition Pvt Ltd in 2018, a corporation that specializes in developing and purchasing tech-driven companies in several industries.
Investments: Since 2014, he has contributed $1 to $2 million to about 18 early-stage businesses.
In 2019, he invested $100 million to acquire a 0.37% share in Ola Cabs.
Other Investments: Grey Orange, Ather Energy, SigTuple, InShorts, Unacademy, and Terminus are among the businesses in his portfolio.

Navi Technologies.
In December 2019, Sachin Bansal’s Navi Technologies acquired Bangalore-based technology consultancy firm MavenHive. The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Navi Technologies purchased the general insurance brand COCO from Dewan Housing Finance Limited in 2020. In the same year, the company raised ₹209 crore ($28 million) from Gaja Capital.
In March 2022, Navi Technologies submitted a ₹3,350 crore ($440 million) IPO application.

Personal Life.
Sachin Bansal’s wife is Priya Bansal Singh, a dentist by profession. Together, they have a son.
In a March 2020 dowry harassment complaint, Sachin Bansal’s wife, Priya Bansal, accused him of pressuring her to transfer property into his name and sexually and physically abusing her. She also said that he sexually harassed her sister.

A official complaint was filed at the Koramangala Police Station, naming Sachin Bansal, his brother Nitin Bansal, and his parents Kiran Bansal and Sat Prakash Aggarwal. In response, Sachin and his family petitioned the Karnataka High Court.
The Karnataka High Court dismissed the case in August and September of 2021. Priya Bansal appealed to the Supreme Court of India on March 11, 2022, but the court rejected her case as well.
