Dragon movie(2025) – Tamil Comedy-Drama Film.
The Tamil comedy-drama Dragon movie, written and directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, will be released in India in 2025. In addition to Anupama Parameswaran, Kayadu Lohar, George Maryan, K.S. Ravikumar, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Mysskin, the film, which is produced by AGS Entertainment, has Pradeep Ranganathan as the main character.
The story’s main character is a young man who has 48 debts when he graduates from college. Despite this, he lives a contented existence until he is forced by circumstances to go back to college and complete his unfinished degree.
The film, which was officially unveiled in April 2024 under the working titles #AGS26 and #PradeepAshwathCombo, was the 26th project from AGS Entertainment and the first collaboration between Pradeep and Ashwath. The actual title was announced shortly after. Principal photography in Chennai began in May 2024 and was nearly complete by October.
Pradeep E. Raghav edited the movie, Niketh Bommi Reddy took pictures, and Leon James composed the soundtrack. Dragon’s normal and EPIQ editions were released worldwide on February 21, 2025. The film received positive reviews from critics who praised the performances of the main actors and the gripping plot. It is currently the second highest-grossing Tamil film of 2025.
Plot Summary.
In 2014, D. Raghavan, a bright and hardworking 12th grader, took home a gold award in computer science. His achievement gives him the courage to confess his love for Anjana, his crush. However, she declines him, stating that she prefers “tough” guys to courteous ones like Raghavan.
Heartbroken, Raghavan adopts the nickname “Dragon movie ” and turns into a disruptive and unruly student. With the help of his friend Ambu, he accrues 48 backlogs and an unsavory reputation at AGS Engineering College in Vellore. Despite his academic struggles, Dragon movie wins the admiration of his peers.
Dragon turns down Dean Mayilvahanan’s offer to attend his final semester of studies in order to improve. After graduating from college, he lives off of his friends’ money while tricking his parents into believing he works for an IT company.
When Keerthi, his six-year girlfriend, finds out he doesn’t get a job or pay his debts, they break up. Dragon rethinks his life after a heartbreaking and inebriated accident. He is determined to prove himself, and his goal is to earn ₹1,20,001—just ₹1 more than Keerthi’s prospective husband, Deepak.
Dragon decides to purchase a fake degree certificate for himself after learning about them from his friend Gautam. He forces his father, Dhanpal, to sell their only piece of land so he may get ₹10 lakhs for the fake certificate. By doing this, he fraudulently secures a high-paying job at the international company Lateral View (MNC).
In just three years, Dragon movie to the United States, gets a lot of promotions, and leads an extravagant life. Attracted by his growing popularity, Thenappan introduces him to Pallavi, the wealthy daughter of tycoon Parashuram. Dragon movie and Pallavi end up falling in love.
Dean Mayilvahanan, however, forces Dragon movie to return to school and complete all 48 backlogs in three months after learning of his fake degree. If he fails, his marriage will be dissolved and he will lose his work.
Reluctantly, Dragon movie takes on the task, lies to his employer about working remotely from Mumbai, and tells his family that his company is sending him for three months of training.
At college, he struggles to fit in and faces off against Kutty Dragon movie , a junior who admires his former rebellious self. At one point, Dragon considers telling his family and his employer the truth, but after hearing of Gautam’s incarceration for using a fake degree, he is compelled to focus on completing his exams.
He reconnects with Keerthi, who is now a lecturer. She questions their past, and Dragon movie admits his mistakes. As a friend, Keerthi helps him study for tests since she feels awful about ending their relationship, even though she is married.
Pallavi unexpectedly arrives in Mumbai right before his final exam. Dragon rushes back to college, exhausted and sleep-deprived, after traveling from Vellore to Chennai to meet her at the airport in order to maintain his deceit. He can’t focus in class, so he bribes an official to swap his answer sheet for someone else’s so he can pass the test.
When he returns to work, he discovers that he has officially cleared his backlog and earned a valid degree. This confirms that he is qualified for the role while he prepares for his wedding.
On the eve of his marriage, Dragon and Kutty Dragon movie visit their classmate Venkat, who tried suicide after failing a course. Coming from a lower-middle-class family, Venkat’s ambitions of working at Google were crushed when he failed this course.
Dragon movie is aware that Venkat’s failure was caused by his usage of a different answer sheet. He confesses to academic fraud, cancels his wedding, and surrenders to the police since he feels bad about it. He receives a six-month prison sentence.
After he completes his sentence, Dragon’s parents accept him back and appreciate his transformed personality. He starts his studies at a different university and works as a food delivery agent, earning ₹25,000 per month.
Mayilvahanan, his once strict dean, is moved by his transformation and sets up Dragon’s marriage to his daughter Harini. Despite his initial reluctance, Dragon is instantly captivated by Harini after meeting her.
